The Washington Redskins saw what was once a promising season end as a dud in a 34-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The loss was marred by yet more mental mistakes, especially a couple of things that happened right before halftime and cost Washington a scoring opportunity.
Wide receiver Santana Moss decided to take his helmet off to argue with an official, costing the Redskins 15 valuable yards when they were inside the Philadelphia 10-yard line..
The team then didn’t leave enough time on the clock to kick a field goal at the end of the half, watching as the clock hit zero before they could get off the three-point attempt. ( Read More…)

The Washington Redskins continued their stumble from the top of the NFC East with an embarassing, 23-0 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
To be fair, the Redskins were without a number of their top players after they were injured in last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.
That said, to be shut out by a defense that is considered to be in the bottom half of the NFL is about as bad as it gets.
John Beck was supposed to be the answer, but he clearly is not. One day, the Redskins might figure out that quarterbacks tossed aside by other teams won’t magically become good players in Washington. ( Read More…)

The Washington Redskins have re-signed tackle Jamaal Brown to a five-year contract as they continue to work on solidifying the offensive line.
The Redskins picked up Brown from the New Orleans Saints last year and were pleased with how he performed as the starting left tackle.
He certainly isn’t the start that he was expected to be coming out of college and being selected in the first round, but he seems to have established himself as a solid NFL player.
Brown joins a Redskins offensive line that will look different than the one he played on last year. The team cut Casey Rabach and signed Chris Chester, so there will be a learning curve for this group. ( Read More…)

With free agency finally upon us, the Washington Redskins are ready to once again be the offseason champions.
The Redskins have plenty of money available under the salary cap, and like usual, they won’t by shy about using it.
Tormented Redskins fans can only hope that the team spends the money much more wisely than they have done in the past.
Washington is rumored to be interested in a number of high profile free agents, with wideout Santonio Holmes being one of their top targets. ( Read More…)

Washington Redskins veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb is set to ask the team for his release at the conclusion of the season.
McNabb is less than pleased at being benched by the team for the final three games of the season.
He might even be more unhappy with the way it all went down, which meant hearing about his benching through the media.
It’s been clear all season long that McNabb and head coach Mike Shanahan do not have the best relationship. ( Read More…)

Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb is furious with the team over the way they have treated him.
McNabb said earlier in the week that he was not worried about losing his job and couldn’t imagine he lost it without being informed about it.
That’s exactly what happened, as McNabb found out he was benched by the media late in the week.
The quarterback is a team captain and was present for the coin toss against Dallas, another low blow. ( Read More…)

The latest reports out of Washington state that Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb doesn’t know the offense.
It is the latest rumor to surface as everyone tries to figure out the real reason behind his benching in Detroit.
It gained some steam after Terrell Owens recently bashed McNabb again on his reality television show.
McNabb called the reports hilarious and said that he has talked to Mike Shanahan and cleared the air. ( Read More…)

The Washington Redskins brought in former top draft pick JaMarcus Russell for a workout.
The move came just a few days after the Redskins benched Donovan McNabb in the final minutes of their loss to the Lions.
The team also worked out another quarterback, though the team said it is something they do on a weekly basis.
Russell was cut by the Raiders before training camp and has failed to catch on anywhere else since that time. ( Read More…)

The Washington Redskins took a step back from the progress they have shown this season in a 37-25 loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Redskins simply had no answer for wideout Calvin Johnson, who finished with 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Quarterback Donovan McNabb had another quiet afternoon, throwing for 210 yards, a touchdown, and a pick.
He was eventually replaced in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, a strange move by the head coach. ( Read More…)

The Washington Redskins will give running back Larry Johnson the start in their second preseason game.
Clinton Portis got the start in the first game against the Buffalo Bills and had six carries for 22 yards.
The Redskins want to give the veteran Johnson a long look against a first team defense, and what better chance than against the fearsome Ravens.
Another veteran running back, Willie Parker, did not play in the first preseason game but could get a start before the regular season opener. ( Read More…)
